How to Prepare for and Participate Effectively in Your Student's Annual IEP Meeting

Soon, in cities and towns across America, parents of students with Down syndrome will take part in the annual process of reviewing their child's IEP (Individual Education Plan).

The IEP team is designed to give parents and teachers the opportunity to work together to set goals for student achievement. These goals must be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time limited.

Refer to the links. The NDSC Communicator have put together for you to help your IEP meeting go more smoothly and maximize the benefits for your student.

Our position statements set expectations for the IEP.
